Kookers is an independent hot dog stand on Northwest Highway, just west of 59. The only thing I’ve ever gotten there is the hot dog with everything on it (no peppers) and a side of fries. It is perfect. It is the perfect hot dog in the perfect hot dog joint.
Jeff often tries other items on the menu and has never been disappointed. We usually share a huge Dr. Pepper. We sit together in the comfy booths and grab a copy of the newspaper or a free magazine. We eat; we sift through our reading material; we share fries, and we feel pretty good.
The food, the atmosphere and the super-friendly owner and staff are amazing. Kookers is a Barrington favorite.
