Jeff and I went to Alt Thai last night for the billionth time (5/23/08).
It was so good. Generally speaking, Asian cuisine is not that great in the suburbs, but Alt Thai is exceptional. The restaurant is intimate, hip and contemporary. It is always busy, but you rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes. The staff is attentive and polite. The prices are reasonable (about $40.00 for two including drinks).
But what about the food? Yes, that is the main reason we like it. The food is tasty, spicy, light and varied. It is probably more eclectic than it is authentic. Most of all, it is not that cheap-greasy-carry-out-corner-Chinese kind of cuisine that we all grow to hate after college.
Our favorites: Crab Rangoon, Chicken Satay, Pineapple Curry, Cashew Chicken. Extra side of rice.
